Kleopatra Ring Anden Sot

My Land - Blind

DARKNESS, by Elena P. Melody.
Fazi Editore, 415 pages, € 18.50

Rating: Abandoned

Dropped, too.
I'm sorry, I really expected better from this book, but I was disappointed from the first page.
There are four young girls victims of the most classic problems in which a teenager may face a succession of clichés truly impressive professors stupid, evil school principal, male bullies, bulimia, obtuse parents, etc. ...
The protagonist and narrator is Alma, which is strange dreams in which people are dying, and, coincidentally, the same people who also died in her dreams a reality.
This is the only one, just mentioned, part fantasy, the rest Alma has always been involved in employment, which must be pretty exhausting, to see a downside in everything, but just in everything from a harmless bus to the mother's partner who is actually a very good man. I do not think the sky is always gray in his city as you say, maybe it's the same Alma who is not able to see the blue.
Now, a pessimistic character may very well be the star of a book, but a pessimistic person immersed in a world full of problems that seem insignificant to be surrounded only by people gives the impression of being too built.
That said, even if we accept the idea that the author has done so on purpose because it was the ideal scenario for the history that is desired and the feeling of hatred that Alma arouses in the reader, however, the work was marred by poor editing,
that a publisher as big as Fazi do not accept.
For goodness sake, the book is smoothly written and quite engaging, even if there is any sentence in Italian is not up, but absolutely lacks consistency and logic.
Meanwhile, the characters sometimes contradict yourself. For example, there is this dialogue:
Doctor: "... get piccogli cuts and burns on the body ..."
Alma: "What kind of cuts? Are deep?"
Doctor: "Not really. They seem pretty tiny incisions, very small and deep ..." But then this
cuts are deep or not?
A good editor would let such contradictions?
Secondly, the characters behave shocking, absolutely devoid of logic.
Alma's mother leaves her child of fourteen, drifter, stay out all night without the slightest worry. The doctor (the same as before, maybe a little 'confused) arrive in the emergency room seeing a girl who was drugged and raped man with peace of mind to call the police, as if it were not a necessary thing.
And then, best (said ironically) is that sometimes a character is named for another.
do not know, it seems that readers are taken for fools: € 18.50 while they have spent, then the book is horrible if their business. Fortunately
me borrowed.
